this proves my theory/hypothesis once again. in the vaguest terms,

• guys that are hot, i am interested in, that i get along with = gay; OR
• guys that are hot, i am interested in, that i get along with = straight but taken
• guys that are hot, not interested in, that i don't get along with = straight and not taken
• guys that are not hot, i'm not interested in = straight and interested in me

sigh. latest subject of interest falls into category 2. at least, this promises me he is probably a pretty damn nice guy. i feel a pang of sadness but i suppose i'm not exactly gutted either.
